Yeap, I did it !

I killed the 3 ancients (aka "les 3 pedes" - NB: everybody who kills you 
more than 2 times is a pede for Bruno ;) ) ...
It wasn't easy ... I lost a lot of gold and experience ...

It started not too bad: I was able to kill at least one, but sooner or 
later, I would get hit and lose all my hit points and die ....
I was running all the time, using my flame arrows with my walkyrie as a 
live bait but that was just not efficient enough.
I was able to avoid getting hit but my shots were not accurate and 
powerful enough... Not to mention that those ancients have an awful load 
of hit points and that magic potions run out quite quickly when you use 
your spells all the time ...

After having died 4 or 5 times, I couldn't afford (litteraly speaking !) 
to have the assistant anymore so I tried alone, again and again with the 
same result...
Eventually, one time, I managed to stay alive long enough to kill one 
ancient but the 2 other ones were still running after me.
As I was trying to shoot them from time to time, I noticed the dreaded 
icon in the top right hand corner that I was running out of arrows ... :(
The 2 other ancients still had half of their life but I thought it would 
be worth a shot anyway (I had so little money left, I couldn't lose too 
much !) and I just left my bow aside to use my long-forgotten mace and 
shield  ...

To my surprise, this was actually much more efficient than what I was 
doing before !
My amazon had so much dexterity that she was able to parry all the 
attacks with the shield or just evade them.
Also, in a melee fight, the ancients are quite weak as they cannot use 
their long-range attacks (the most powerful ones) and as they are 
actually quite slow...
I was then able to hit them several times almost without losing any hit 
point and to kill them without having to use a potion, everything within 
2 minutes, while I was running around for 10-15 minutes, trying to avoid 
them and to shoot randomly whenever I had some time !

Anyways, I've reached the last levels of Diablo II and I'm not far from 
Baal now so hurry and catch up !
