Dear Fighters of the Evil,

I would like to know which ones of you [use] / [are interested in using]
Diablo II with the Expansion Set version.

If we are at least 2 interested in doing Expansion games - I know we are 1
already ... ;) , we could set up a "procedure" for Game creation in
Expansion version.
(something similar to the "bodiccea" procedure, like: Create a game named
"bodiccea_e", ....)

If I receive positive answers, I will propose the "procedure" to Bruno so
that he can include it, if he wishes so, in here:

Reasons why I particularly like the Expansion version:

Reason 1: the Weapon swapping option, very, very powerful:
Extract from http://www.battle.net/diablo2exp/basics/controls.shtml :
Weapon Swapping
In Diablo II: Lord of Destruction, you have the ability to swap quickly
between two sets of equipped weapon selections (i.e., right- and left-hand
inventory slot configurations). To do this, merely open your Inventory
screen and equip your character as you normally would. Next, left-click on
either of the two tabs denoted by the Roman numeral "II" (or press the W
key) to toggle between the two weapon configurations. Now equip your
character with an additional two-handed weapon, a weapon and a shield, or
(for Barbarians and Assassins) a pair of appropriate one-handed weapons.
You can switch between the two weapon configurations at any time by
pressing the W key or by clicking on the inactive weapon configuration's
tab in your inventory screen (the inactive configuration is the one shaded
a darker grey). Note: Your left and right mouse button skill setups are
linked to your two weapon configurations. This allows you to customize your
skill mouse buttons in order to complement your current weapon
configuration.
Remember that your character must meet the requirements for any weapons you
want to equip. Also, please keep in mind that only your currently selected
weapon configuration is actively equipped. Any magical properties of items
in your inactive configuration will not affect your character until you
make that configuration active. For example, if you are currently using
weapon configuration "I," any magical properties of items in configuration
"II" have no effect until you make it your active configuration.

Reason 2: the stash size is x2. Very good if you're trying to get a Set of
rare items or if Once you've tried it, very hard to go back to the smaller
one...

Reason 3: the new classes, Assassin and Druid are cool (the Assassin is
really a new concept: a Sorc that can "melee" fight)

Reason 4: my wife is a DII player as well, she completed Act IV and is
playing in Act V now in expansion, it looks nice with all this snow
falling...

Reason 5: you can convert any Diablo II 'normal' character you have &
really like to Expansion (but not back to normal).

I will of course continue to join the 'normal' version games (even if i am
not very regular), even the ones where Zon and Sorc "discutent chiffons"
("discuss clothes") for 20 minutes..."Et mon baton, il te plait?" ....
;))))

take care :)
CedricC

PS - remark to br: on the page diablo.html, the section on "Game" in the
FAQ could maybe be switched to the "How to play" section ? (I feel it could
be easier to spot it for new joiners)
